The project concerns the design of a two-apartment building, with a total area of 140 sq.m. on a plot of land in the area of the Ioannina airport of 210 sq.m.
The owners commissioned us to design a building that would accommodate a family of three as well as an independent small apartment, suitable for a couple with the intention of renting it out.
Due to the small coverage of the plot of only 84 sq.m. on the ground floor is the family apartment with an entrance from a shared staircase, with a single living room and kitchen area, a bathroom and two bedrooms with one of the two, due to its size, having auxiliary use. Its total surface is 75 sq.m. For this reason, through an internal staircase, there is a connection with part of the floor where there is a third bedroom of 16 sq.m. in contact with the independent apartment which is accessed from the shared staircase. This apartment is 40 sq.m. with one bedroom, bathroom and single living room - kitchen.
The design of the building was based on the narrow limitations of the small plot and the building conditions of the area. Within these limitations, we followed clear design lines, without excessive details, in order to render a clean visual effect and keep the manufacturing costs affordable.
